WHO CAN MAKE FP+ AT WDW?

All guests can make up to 3 FP+ reservations per day in 1 WDW Park in advance of your vacation. The benefit is you have 3 pre-planned attractions you are guaranteed to see/ride when you arrive at the Park.

  • If staying at a WDW Resort (on property), FP+ reservations for your entire stay can be made up to 60 days in advance of your planned vacation, starting at 7am EST.
    • There are several “off property” resorts in the Disney Springs area that allow scheduling FP+ selections 60 days in advance:
      • B Resort & Spa
      • Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort
      • DoubleTree Guest Suites by Hilton Orlando
      • Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Palace
      • Hilton Orlando Resort Lake Buena Vista
      • Holiday Inn Orlando
      • Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
      • Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
  • If staying at a non-Disney resort (off property), FP+ reservations can be made for each individual day of your stay up to 30 days in advance of your planned vacation, starting at 7am EST. (Off property guests will have to schedule FP+ selections multiple days in a row)

HOW MANY FP+ SELECTIONS CAN I RESERVE PER DAY? CAN I ADD MORE ONCE MY INITIAL SELECTIONS ARE FINISHED?

Each guest with a purchased/linked park ticket can schedule up to 3 FP+ selections per day for 1 WDW Park, in advance of the start of their vacation. Once those FP+ selections are completed for the day, you can book 1 additional FP+ selection at a time, at any WDW Park.

For example, if your FP+ selections are as follows, once Spaceship Earth has ended at 12:25 PM, you can schedule another FP+ selection at Epcot, or at any other WDW Park. You can book as many additional as you’d like for the remainder of the day, 1 at a time.

  • Soarin’ Around the World 9:25 AM – 10:25 AM
  • Living with the Land 10:25 AM – 11:25 AM
  • Spaceship Earth 11:25 AM – 12:25 PM

Note that attractions are tiered in all parks, except Magic Kingdom. This means that you can choose only 1 attraction in the top tier and the other 2 in the second or third tiers. Tier 1 is usually the most popular attractions. (I’ve listed the current tiers below)

Once you schedule your FP+ selections, you can go back into your selections and edit times. I wouldn’t worry about the time initial when you book them – you can always go back and update.

You can make additional FP+ selections based on availability on the My Disney Experience app or at kiosks located at specific locations at each Park. See your Park guide for locations.

HOW DOES FP+ WORK?

On the day of your scheduled FP+ selection, arrive at the attraction within the hour of your reservation. For example, if you are scheduled to ride Soarin’ Around the World from 9:25 AM-10:25 AM, you can arrive anytime within that one hour timeframe and enter the separate FP+ line. There still may be a short wait time depending on crowd levels and time of year.

It is usually possible to arrive up to 5 minutes before your scheduled time, or even up to 15 past the end time, and still be allowed to ride the attraction. Your ticket or MagicBand will be scanned to verify your reservation.

TIP: If the stand-by line has a short wait time (5-15 min wait for example), I’d recommend skipping the FP+ line and standing on the stand-by line. You can change your FP+ selection to another attraction at a later time. This allows you to maximize the amount of attractions you are able to ride during your visit.

WHAT IS THE BEST STRATEGY FOR BOOKING FP+? WHAT IF I DON’T GET THE FP+ RESERVATIONS I WANT?

Always focus on which attractions are most popular and require FP+ if lines are long and you don’t want to wait.

When scheduling FP+ selections at 60 days, if staying on property (and can schedule for the entire stay), I always recommend having a tentative plan for which days you intend to be in which parks. This allows you to focus on each day, one at a time, and schedule accordingly. Within each of those days, I prioritize which attractions need FP+ the most. Those are the attractions I schedule first.

TIP: When scheduling, you can jump from day to day to schedule FP+ selections, choosing the most popular/priority attractions first. Then you can go back and schedule the remainder (lesser priority attractions) for the rest of your stay.

DOES FP+ COST ANYTHING?

FP+ does not cost anything additional, aside from the purchase of your Park tickets.

CAN I USE SOMEONE ELSE’S FP+ RESERVATION?

Yes, as long as all parties are in the Park that day. You can use their ticket or MagicBand to scan when entering the FP+ line.

LINKING YOUR PARK TICKET/MAGICBAND

In order to make FP+ reservations, you need to purchase/link your Park tickets ahead of time. If you book your vacation through Walt Disney World directly, your tickets will already be in your account, no action required. If purchased separately, you will need to link them to your account. On the back of each ticket is a 12-digit ID Number. You will enter this number at WaltDisneyWorld.com (My Disney Experience tab, MagicBands and Cards) to link them to your account.

CAN YOU PURCHASE FP+ RESERVATIONS?

Yes, if you are staying Club Level at the following resorts, you can purchase 3 additional FP+ reservations for a $50 + tax, per guest per day. This is a limited pilot program at WDW.

  • Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Cabins
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Club Level
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – Club Level
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Club Level
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Club Level
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Club Level
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Villas & Bungalows – Bungalows
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Club Level
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – Club Level
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort – Club Level
  • Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels – select suites and premium rooms

To qualify, you must purchase a 3-day or longer Park Ticket or have an Annual Pass. FP+ selections can be made 90 days in advance and if you have the park hopper option on your tickets, you can make the extra three selections in more than one Park.

There is also an opportunity to book a Preferred Viewing Location for one of the following. Advance reservations are required and availability of each nighttime spectacular preferred viewing location is limited.

  • Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom
  • Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot
  • Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom

WHAT ARE TIERS AT EACH PARK?

Each park (with the exception of Magic Kingdom) has tiered attractions. This means when booking your FP+ selections, you can select 1 Tier 1 attraction and then 2 Tier 2 attractions.
