2021 Guide to Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

It’s time!! The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is returning starting July 15 and runs through November 20, 2021!

I have been enjoying the delights of the Food & Wine Festival since the early 2000s. This is one of my absolute favorite times of year to visit Walt Disney World. Over the years I’ve had the great pleasure of seeing the Food & Wine Festival get better and better, and while the 2021 festival will still be modified in some ways, I’m certain it will live up to all expectations!

This festival in particular, out of all four offered throughout the year, has grown immensely in popularity over the years. While this is a GREAT thing for Disney, Epcot and the festival itself, it can be quite busy and chaotic at times – especially on evenings and weekends. This can be challenging if you don’t know what to expect and don’t have a plan. So I’m here to help!

**Bookmark this page and follow along for everything you need to know about the festival. Refer back to it often as it will be updated accordingly as announcements and details are shared.

So let’s dig in a little, see what we’ve learned so far and what’s in store for the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival!

This year’s record breaking 128-day festival begins on July 15 (just 10 days after the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival ends) and runs until November 20, 2021. Enjoying the majority of the festival will cost you no more than your entrance ticket into Epcot. However, if you plan on sampling food and drinks during the event, that will cost you additional money.

The festival will still be modified to some degree due to COVID restrictions, we’ll learn more about what is affected as new information is released, however one thing will not change…. FOOD will still be the centerpiece. Returning Global Marketplace favorites such as Canada, Greece, Germany, Hops and Barley, and Appleseed Orchard will make an appearance. As the festival continues on, more and more food booths will be added for Guests’ enjoyment (no word yet on this year’s specific booth details). Each booth typically showcases 3-4 small plates and 3 or more drink options. Each range approximately $4-8 each, so it could add up quickly if you don’t prioritize and/or set a budget for yourself. There is also an additional fee for any tours, demonstrations or premium events you decide to attend – we’ll learn more in time whether Disney will offer any for Guests this year. There are however plenty of free things to do that are fun for the entire family.

What To Expect at the Festival

  • This years festival will be a modified version of the Fall favorite (and longest ever); it will include some of our very favorite global marketplaces spaced out around the park and lots of fun activities and entertainment

  • The festival starts on Thursday July 15 and ends Saturday November 20, 2021

  • The “Eat to the Beat Concert Series” appears to be canceled again this year, but look for other forms of entertainment provided throughout the park during the festival, such as the Mariachi Cobra and Jammin’ Chefs.

  • Emile’s Fromage Montage Returns!! Guests are invited to purchase any 5 cheese dishes from the Global Marketplace options listed in the Festival Passport (available at the festival). Sample all sorts of delicious cheeses served in fun ways – if you collect a stamp from five different Global Marketplaces, you’ll earn a prize!

  • Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak is back!!! Participate in a savory scavenger hunt in search of Remy statuettes hidden all over the park. Help Remy as he explores the World Showcase collecting ingredients for his signature dish. This is fun for the whole family!!
    • Here’s how it works: You buy a map (complete with stickers) for $7.99 (prices are subject to change) at select merchandise locations throughout World Showcase. The goal is the find him and help him collect the ingredients for his signature dish, Ratatouille. As you find the ingredients in the designated locations indicated on the map, place the corresponding sticker on the map to represent the location. In some locations, he is very easy to spot; other locations are quite difficult and may require a bit more time to find him. Once you make your way around the world, and you complete your map using all the included stickers, return to Disney Traders (a merchandise store located at the entrance to the World Showcase) or World Traveler (a merchandise store located at International Gateway) and earn your prize (while supplies last)! This activity is super cute and I highly recommend it to anyone, young and old alike. I posted my thoughts on the scavenger hunt the last time I participated at Epcot. You can read my thoughts on that here: https://adisneystateofmind.com/remys-ratatouille-hide-squeak-is-it-worth-trying

Stay tuned for more information; I’ll share in this post as it’s released.
